It is indeed a great opportunity, however a fast growing company needs to focus on its core knowledge rather than jump on every opportunity. We have decided to focus on metal casting, and until we reach a "critical mass" we do not wish to explore tools for plastic.
In order to seriously make injection molds we need to develop knowledge and expertise in plastic tooling design, buy an injection molding machine to validate the tool performance, and have a sales force target the plastic tooling application. In my opinion, at this time it may be a diversion of focus to pursue this opportunity (and other opportunities such as stamping tools, molds for tires, etc.... )
