Sgt produces a radically new kind of capital equipment for heavy industry. This is unusual. It's not an Internet company that traders get it on for in days. I buy for myself, but for my kids' accounts also
With respect to this board. There are markets in ideas and they work remarkably well, if not perfectly. That's one of the best things about the communications revolution. (Porno and some others are the bad things.) Trash does get identified for what it is. Ignorance becomes obvious. Viciousness can't cover itself for long. I rather admire Yehoram for this board. It shows a management style so open that if Sgt fails, it is not for management living in a cocoon. It pushes to the Internet what DEC and many of the firms of Silicon Valley started years ago. Besides, if this board closes, someone could always establish one on Raging Bull or elsewhere and trash the company just for spite.
As for bulletin board status. Over time we'll pick up market makers. The bid/asked spread will close. (Apparently it already has, but probably a single market maker hopes to pick up a few extra dollars from someone too shy to offer lower than the asked.) In many ways BB stocks get more exposure than ec stocks on the ASE.
Just be careful of the screwball daytraders who pick a stock to run for three hours and then drop it cold. One service Yehoram could provide on this board is that if SGT should start to soar and he were available to respond to a posting or an email, he could issue a statement saying he knows of nothing that would cause unusual market activity. That way he could prevent some folks from getting burned. If he did not respond, shareholders would have to allow either that he was unavailable at the time or something substantial is up. In other words, he could help but not harm the situation.
